Red Mark Song Pin Hao represents the pinnacle of Hao-grade Pu-er and is revered as the "King of Tea." Renowned for its exceptional quality, Song Pin Hao was historically regarded as a tribute tea, prized for its refined aroma and layered complexity. Today, surviving examples are exceedingly rare and highly coveted by collectors. As esteemed scholar Yu Qiuyu once noted in his Ranking of Hao-Grade Teas, Song Pin Hao rightfully stands at the very top — a tea that embodies the highest realm of Pu-er perfection.
The text on the stack ticket reads: "This establishment, based in Yiwu Mountain of Pu-er, Yunnan, carefully selects and handpicks tender tea leaves for production. Honoured guests are invited to identify our tea by the 'Ping An Ru Yi' emblem." Yiwu Mountain enjoys an ideal terroir for tea cultivation, with its altitude, climate, humidity, and fertile soil providing optimal growing conditions. Many of its centuries-old tea trees remain under protection today.
This lot has been preserved in its original stack in dry storage for over a century and remains in exceptional condition, with red inner ticket still embedded within each cake. Made from carefully selected leaves sourced from the ancient Six Great Tea Mountains, the cakes display thick, sturdy strips and abundant golden buds, a testament
to the meticulous craftsmanship of its time. The liquor glows ruby-red and translucent, exuding subtle medicinal notes with a lingering sweet aftertaste.
