A Pair of Lidded Bowls with Lotus Scrolls (19th Century)

The exterior of this lidded bowl, with a deep curving body and a short ring foot, is painted with lotus scroll in underglaze-turquoise on top of the white glaze body. The lid fits on the inside of the bowl. The branches and lotus patterns extend from the foot to the mouth of the lid and bowl, which symbolize the continuity of life.
