In the 20 years of the 1950s and 1960s, it was an era of frequent social changes in mainland China. The production of Yunnan Pu’er tea remained inconsistent under these unstable social circumstances. Many tea houses at the time produced a variety of Pu'er tea there were unnamed, where these unadorned teacake were put into its soft bamboo rafts or wooden crates to be sold in bundles. This category of Red Mark Pu'er tea has no apparent exterior wrapping and has been preserved since the 1950s. It is usually packaged in soft bamboo rafts where each stack contains seven tea Cake and contain traces of a recognizable "Baizhong Tea" trademark ticket. This group of tea is commonly referred to as the Red Mark Pu'er tea without wrapping or the Blue Mark Pu'er tea without wrapping. The brew tea remains fragranced in aroma and rich with depth in flavor. The Red Mark Pu'er without wrapping is greatly treasured among collectors and connoisseurs as supply becomes increasing scarce.
