The first version of M2 Black Paint was produced in 1958 (batch number 948601-949100). M2 Black Paint was ranked R7, “Exceptionally Rare”, in the Leica International Price Guide (R1-R10). However, for M2 with rewind button and without self-timer, less than 200 units were produced, they were indeed extremely rare and should be ranked the same as MP. (Please refer to James Lager Vol.I p.202 for further illustrations). This camera comes with Summicron-M 2/50mm(#1926634), in original black paint, with front lens cap and with signs of use.
