This is a Leitz Canada 180mm f/3.4 prototype M lens head for Visoflex use. This rare prototype lens (1 of probably 5 were produced) by Leitz Canada (circa 1968) was a design for the US government. This prototype developed by Dr. Mandler (also the designer Noctilux-M 1/50mm) parallel to the 180mm Elcan R lens, which was eventually produced as 180mm f/3.4 APO-Telyt-R for Leicaflex camera. Dr Mandler also designed the 90mm /1.0 lens for the US government. It also exist a RF coupled version of the 180mm f/3.4 C47 lens with goggles similar as 135mm f/2.8. Extremely rare. This lens comes with M3 chrome (#750377), Visoflex II, OTXBO 4X magnifier and bellow. This lot has been authenticated by Paul-Henry van Hasbroeck.
