M6 Schmidt Centennial Anniversary Set

In order to commemorate the centennial anniversary of Schmidt group, a limited edition of Leica M6 were launched in 1996. This lot includes a commercial edition and a prototype edition. The body of the prototype is in chrome finished and decorated with black leather while that of commercial edition is in platinum plating and decorated with greyish leather; the Schmidt’s emblem on top plate is outlined in black while that of commercial edition is in gold. The commemorative number for the commercial set is SC098 but no such number for the prototype. The commercial edition comes with Elmar-M 2.8/50mm lens (#3741398) with engraving “SC 098” on its barrel, completes with box and papers, wooden box, body cap, hood (#12459), both lens caps and camera strap. The prototype edition comes with Elmar-M 2.8/50mm lens (#3732914) and completes with front lens cap and hood (#12459).
