ESTIMATE:HK$ 80,000 - 120,000
Serial no.0001235,N/A,Condition A+
Here is a rare prototype Summicron-M 2/50mm lens with special serial number 0001235. It was designed by Dr. Walter Mandler around 1966 to 1967 and it is estimated that five units were produced. This was a complete redesign from the initial legendary Summicron and this particular version was built using flint glass. The mount is special in that there is no locking mechanism for the focusing mount. It comes with both lens caps. The camera has been authenticated by Paul-Henry van Hasbroeck. The lens has perfect optics and the focusing/aperture mechanism is smooth.
