A very rare 2.8/9cm prototype lens in chrome finished, never reached commercial production. Ernst Leitz Canada received the main components from Leitz Germany in 1969, the optical engineer Dr. Walter Mandler recalculated the formula and made few improvements. Unnumbered prototype with “Objektiv f=9cm 1:2:8 Nr.” in Dutch and “Ernst Leitz Canada Ltd.” engraved on the name ring; with the word “Germany” engraved on barrel. Moreover, it comes with three handwritten memos from Leitz factory, which is not often to be seen in the market.
The lens comes with lens rear cap.
