This lot remains in good condition, packed in bamboo baskets covered with bamboo leaves and sealed with long strips. Renowned for its complex production that requires years of storage before aroma develops, Liu An was largely discontinued during the Republic era and revived only in 1984 at the request of overseas Chinese and the medical community. Long valued for its cooling and detoxifying qualities, it is celebrated as one of China's classic medicinal teas.
