This is a Leitz Wetzlar rare original Summaron 2.8/35mm M-RF lens in black paint finished. Very unusual in black paint finished is the 2.8/35mm lens. Lenses usually supplied for early black M3 cameras, besides 2/50mm and f/1.4 lenses were the 2/35mm Summicron of the 8-element design. Both exist in M (for M2) as well as M-RF version with the "goggles" (for M3). Of the Summaron 2.8/35 mm lenses only a very few specimens seem to have been completed in black paint finish and are extremely rare. Compare Lars Netopil "Rare Leica", p. 290.
