Leica 3.5cm Viewfinder SBLOO Prototype
PRICE (included premium):HK$ 64,900
Serial no.N/A,N/A,Condition A-
Very rare and all original Leitz SBLOO 35mm bright line finder (1950’s), in black paint finish. Never commercially advertised, a very small number of those scarce black paint SBLOO finders were originally made by Leitz. It is known that Henry Cartier Bresson and others got black paint Leica IIIg cameras on special order. Also, very early and original special order black paint versions of the Leica M3 do exist with serial numbers from 746571. Both cameras the IIIg as well as the M3 only had a 50mm finder as built-in and 35mm "RF" lenses with goggles for M3 were only made from 1956. So the black SBLOO could have been made for those early black versions. Beautiful, very clean condition with some tiny bubbles in the black paint. Perfect glass. This finder has been authenticated by Lars Netopil. This viewfinder is clear and bright, there are signs of normal use and it comes with original box. Please refer to James Lager Vol.II p.25 and Vol.III p.42 for further illustrations.
