Leitz Wetzlar rare original factory prototype M-camera with built-in TTL light meter. This camera represents one of the first units of prototyping of a built-in meter arm into Leica-M. Around 1965. Please compare van Hasbroeck "Leica, an illustrated history, second revised edition" on plated XXXIII and XXXII of the colour plates for similar units numbers 1206 and 1208. Only a handful of those experimental units were completed, before the project turned into the M4/M5 development. As a set, complete with external display instrument built on basis of a Leicameter-MR, which connects to the camera with a plug and shows the value given from the camera´s built-in meter. The camera is in nice conditions. This camera set has been authenticated by Lars Netopil.
This comes with a meter (MR) and body cap, in excellent condition. Extremely rare.
