In 1964, Norman Goldberg re-designed the motor drive for Leica and called Technical Photomation Instruments (TPI) to produce. These models were designed, produced and sale of about 12 units. They were completed in 1965 with company name “TPI” engraved. However, Leica purchased all parts and patents and continued to make the “New York Motor” from 1966 to 1971. From this period, the TPI logo are milling out.
More important thing is two prototypes are probably from the early stage, logo “TPI” were engraved. And the word “TPI” is milling out for the last piece which is probably a prototype of late version.
The lot comes with a certificate sign by Don Goldberg, son of Norman Goldberg, very rare.
