In 1979, 1,000 Gold M4-2 cameras with matching Summilux 1.4/50mm lens (#2848124) were made to commemorate the centenary of Oskar Barnack, creator and pioneer of the most famous Leica camera. The camera plated with 24 carat gold and covered with precious lizard skin, engraved with facsimile Oskar Barnack‘s signature at the back, as well as “1879-1979”. It comes with wooden box, outer box, papers, both lens caps, body cap, hood, strap and a golden Leica lapel pin. Hot shoe shows very light oxidation. In mint- condition.
