This is probably a prototype / pre-series lens of Elmar 4/9cm, as the lens shows different features with official batch. Firstly, the serial number of this lens is not under the official batch and it starts with 0000; moreover, it has wider front rim in E39 and fix aperture index, which is moves to right instead of moving to left. Furthermore, “Eigentum der Ernst Leitz GmbH Wetzlar” is engraved on barrel. Its rarity is greatly increased with the above features. The lens comes with both lens caps.
