This lot has been well-preserved in mild dry or natural storage. In the late 1980s, Menghai Tea Factory began pressing smaller 100g tea bricks using higher-grade leaves with fine tender buds on top, making it finer than other Pu-er teas of the time. Compared to the 1992 square tea bricks, these 1980s bricks have a thicker texture and more pronounced flavor. One of the pieces is an earlier version, featuring a distinctive nine-square pattern.
