L&H 5th Anniversary Spring Auction 2018 concluded with remarkable result

L & H Auction Spring auction has another successful sale at the Grand Hyatt Hong Kong on the 27 May 2018. In celebration of L & H Auction’s 5th anniversary, the Spring 2018 sales encompass a well curated mix of an exclusive collection of rare offerings from private collections including the categories of Teawares, Vintage Pu’er, Chinese Delicacies and aged Maotai of excellent condition and impeccable provenance. Among these groundbreaking pieces, LOT 260 “A Tong of Red Mark Pu-er Tea Cake” dated to the 1950’s had garnered much attention from bidders and was ultimately sold for HKD5,586,000 and topped the results of the season, followed by LOT 245 “A Tong of Red Mark Pu-er Tea Cake", dated to the 1950s, selling at HKD5,358,000 and LOT 234 “6 Tongs of 8582 Pu-er Tea Cake” dated to the 1980s, selling at HKD5,130,000.

Prospect for LOT 113 “A Golden Teapot with inscriptions of the artist” was good leading up to the auction and generated a heated round of bidding competition amongst collectors and connoisseurs, it was eventually sold over the pre-auction estimates at HKD767,000 after an extensive round of bids. Moreover, LOT 111 “A piece of carved Qinan” was sold HKD 566,400. Other magnificent works from the Maitao category performed impressively with the highlight of LOT617 sold at HKD448,400 after a heated round of bids in the salesroom at the Grand Hyatt Hong Kong.
